Oberammergau Passion Play with Collette Vacations
Oberammergau Passion Play, Passion Play 2010, The world-renowned Oberammergau Passion Play began in 1634 when residents from the town sought reprieve from the Bubonic Plague. The inhabitants of the village vowed that if God were to spare them from the Plague, they would perform a play every ten years depicting the life and death of Jesus. Not a single person fell victim to the Plague after the villagers’ promise. That first performance sparked a heartfelt tradition that lives on today… The Passion Play performances will begin again in 2010 from May to October, when thousands of Oberammergau’s residents will once again display this powerful story. Collette Vacations has 8 fantastic programs to Europe that feature this amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I read that all the performers are native to the town. Considering the town has only about 4,000 inhabitants, that’s an amazing concentration of talent.
Oberammergau is beautiful. I got home (Hungary) now from there.
Great video for what seems a must see event. May have to change our plans for fall travel…
Which song is used in this clip?
I’ve already booked with Collette and their employees have been wonderful. I can’t wait to go to Italy and the passion play in 2010.
This event is amazing… you have to check it out for yourself or regret hearing about it from others.
It really is an historic event… not to be missed. Don’t wait until 2020 for your next chance. The best part is the city of Oberammergau as it’s a quiet charming town with passionate townspeople who care about this play and it’s history of events.
outstanding and compelling
A “must see” once in a lifetime!
Beautiful video. I want to go!
I saw the passion play in 1990 – but I think I was too young to appreciate it. I am gearing up to see it in 2010 – its really is an historic event, I mean, you can only catch it once a decade. I’m not waiting until 2020, omg.
Excellent video showcasing the Passion of Christ. Well done ~
This is definitely a 5 star video – Collette does a wonderful job always!!! Great Tours – Great Destinations !!!1
A truly moving and meaningful experience each of us should have at least once in our lives. I’m returning with Collette after the wonderful trip we had in 2000, only this time including different neighboring countries.
Excellent video! top notch.
Very moving–would love to see this!
Wow…great video…great story….
Nice job – 5 stars!
What a great way to see Europe during a rare event. This should really get people traveling again in 2010. It is so cool that all of the local towns people participate in the recreation of the story of Christ. A real labor of love and devotion for the Christian faith. Well worth seeing.
